Sexual violence in Indonesian University: On students’ critical consciousness and agency

This qualitative study analysed how aspects of critical consciousness in students played a role the issue sexual violence higher education institution. research involved students, lecturers, and elements leaders university Aceh, Indonesia. For data collection method, researchers used semi-structured interviews. The was using thematic analysis with utilization student agency concept as theoretical frameworks. found that significant dealing issues university. Without consciousness, would potentially err analysing violence. Aspects students' were also influenced by structure or discourse viewing tendency campus to be more concerned its good reputation exacerbated handling prevention cases. implication this is finding institutional influence each other, both positively negatively. To deal violence, must promote among academics, create pro survivors’ underpin agency, most importantly, strive cultivate gender equity perspective leaders.
